Seeds of Impact: When Inclusion Takes Root, the Future Flourishes
The 10th of October 2025 was a day to remember — a true celebration of inclusion, leadership, and environmental stewardship.
Dubbed “Mazingira Day,” the event brought together autistic children and young adults at Kestrel Manor School for a meaningful Tree Planting Event tagged “Seeds of Impact.” What made the day extraordinary wasn’t just the number of seedlings planted — 394 out of a target of 500 — but the hands that planted them.
Led by autistic children and youth, the activity stood as a beautiful reminder that inclusion isn’t charity; it’s leadership in action. With each seedling, our Autism Champions for Climate — the reigning and past Mr. and Miss Autism Kenya winners — symbolized resilience, hope, and their deep commitment to a greener, more inclusive Kenya.
The event brought together parents, caregivers, families, and a strong network of partners including Safaricom PLC, NCPWD, Kenya Airways, Kenya Institute of Special Education (KISE), Gakami Mustard Seed Foundation, Vijana na Taifa, Exotic Travel Centre, DIPAD, Rotary Club of Nairobi Parklands, and the Rotaract Clubs of Kikuyu and Nairobi Parklands. Their presence underscored the power of collaboration in driving both environmental and social impact.
It was a day filled with joy, laughter, and unity — where the neurodivergent community and allies came together to nurture not just trees, but understanding and belonging. For parents and caregivers, it was a chance to connect, share stories, and witness their children take the lead in shaping a brighter, more sustainable future.
At Ready Aiders Foundation, we believe that inclusion means more than access — it’s about visibility, voice, and leadership. Through initiatives like Seeds of Impact, we continue to empower autistic children and their families to participate meaningfully in community and climate action.
As these trees take root, so does our shared commitment — to grow, to include, and to build a world where every child can lead, inspire, and thrive.
